Not only were the scores tight but the round results were strange. None of the top seven pairs won more than five rounds and Geoel were first overall with a round record of 4-4-1. Heve lost the first round to Kalbot, won all the other rounds and finished 8-1 but were only tenth overall. Haorge finished 6-1-2, losing only to Randi while drawing with Leighry and Ribot. Then came Glotin, Gel and Paun at 6-3.

We had a strong run of spade contracts today. On Boards 8-10, only one contract of the forty-two was in another denomination. Board 15 was the hand of the day; a nice diamond slam required careful play because of a surprising bad split in a side suit. Three pairs reached the slam, which was made by Joel and Sarah.?
