Re: [wcarc] Free 45G Tower side mount bracket for antenna

Hi John;

You should hide the bracket along with a fox transmitter somewhere in Leander.

First one to find it gets the bracket.

Re: Would anyone be interested in complete FT-101F stn?

That is a dream rig right there. I'm focused on paying down student loans for the next few decades, but this station or a Collins set are my absolute dream set ups for a vintage station. Very cool. I may not be able to afford it, but I'd love to check it out just to see one in operation! I've wanted to learn how to use one of these stations since I was licenced the year before last. Thanks for sharing!

Would anyone be interested in complete FT-101F stn?

I think Im ready to allow another lover of classic radios to rehome my complete FT-101F station that I have collected over the years.

When I say? "complete" FT-101, I do mean complete, EXCEPT for the Clock -- I never did find one.
All the components shown at the top of this page (this isnt my page, but a GREAT 101 resource) : I actually have TWO Landliner phone patch speakers, one fabric has a small scuff on it.They are both included.
The main radio and some other pieces still have the protective plastic on the front!

PROVIDENCE: For those who knew him, this was Ishmael KB5AVB(SK) (Always Very Busy) FT-101F radio
IIRC, Im the 5th owner, the one before me didnt use it at all after he bought it from Ishmael, as his wife bought him a new solid state rig shortly after.
They all knew how to properly tune up and use it, I have verified the transceiver has the ORIGINAL NEC tubes, and last time I had it on an antenna a couple years ago, 105W on 20m barefoot.
The FL-2100B amp was acquired from Todd N5RVD(SK) 's estate.? The rest of the components I do not know the history (bought at swapfests, online, etc).

Its not that I need the money, or that anything is wrong with it (that I know of), I just feel its a shame (kinda guilty) that it just sits here unused (dog-blasted new fancy solid state gear....).
And I could clear up some space. All together, this is 6 linear feet of vintage radio!
HHZ even said I should take whatever I get for it and put it back into the hobby, not just pay bills/etc with it.
(and NO! You cant have her ! ....for any less than $500,000... kidding dear! :-) ) )

As far as I know, it all works. I turn the radio on once a week or so, fire up the heaters, then shut it back off after 5-10 minutes
Might need some TLC with some contact cleaner on a couple knobs. Or just use it to work them clean.

Anyone who has ever looked for 101 components knows some of these almost never come up available, but I do have the 2 and 6m transverters, the scope, the 2100B amp.again, all thats shown on that page above.
I have boxes for some components, most of the manuals, some original, others print outs.

Id prefer to sell local to CenTex for local pickup/meet/delivery, as these are very well solidly built (think late 1970's manufacturing when they made things stout/HEAVY!).
IIRC, the SN on the radio says it is just barely older than HHZ --Made in the Sept 1977 ?

This was a labor of love collecting the pieces over the years, so please dont insult by expecting generosity/lowballing -- I might use words HHZ usually uses when she gets upset with me.. :-)
Radios in working condition go for around $400-$600, the amp around $800-$1,000+, IF YOU CAN FIND the transverters they are $300-$500 each, same with the Scope.
Im thinking $2500-ish takes the package, and no (JE) I dont want to part it all back out.

I plan to document it all to a web page and then post it to the AARC swapnet/newsletter, and if by some chance if after the usual 6 weeks it hasnt sold, Ill probably go to FB Marketplace then Fleabay.
But I thought i would give local clubs a chance to see if anyone was interested first.
Id rather not carry it all out to any swap meets as, again, this a lot of radio....

If you are interested, email me back here, or feel free to call/text my cell 512-563-9437.
Id be willing to meet/drive most of CenTex (N.AUS evenings, rest on a weekend day).
I could demo the radio and Ext VFO (all I have hooked together at the moment) here if you wanted to come by.
I could take pics for you directly if interested before the full presentation is created....

Special Maintenance Notice - Several files have been deleted from the hambuds' site by Admin.

Please do not upload files, photos or databases to this Hambuds groups.io site UNLESS it is for TEMPORARY transfer to others on this list. Once the transfer has been made, please delete those files to make room for others to use it.? We have a 1 GB files limit, above which we (you all) will be charged $20 a month for the privilege.

There is definitely no need to transfer files to the Files area if you can simply send out a "link" to the same document for others to download from the web.

In further news from our Treasurer, KE5RS John, several of the active group members meeting at breakfast have decided to delete the "suggestion" that dues are required for Hambud membership. Dues have Never been required by the Hambuds. We are NOT a 501-C-3 non-profit organization. We are a loosely affiliated group of Ham Radio 'buds that meet for breakfast and other times to accomplish Field Day and other social activities. DONATIONS are also not required, but welcomed. Contact KE5RS at ARRL dot NET to find out how you can make a donation.

The Hambuds' have periodic financial obligations which require payments; these include electric payments to our hosts for repeater/Air conditioning power and twice-a-year Field Days (summer and winter) reservations for park pavilions. Non-periodic payments may also be necessary for unexpected repeater maintenance. Thank you for your donations.

2024 ARRL Field Day completed!

Greetings, Hambuds!

?? I would like to thank everyone who came out and participated with the Hambuds during Field Day!?

?? A big Thank You to Mike, AF5M, first for letting us use his call sign, and for his providing the logging computer and networking.? We had several network hiccups that Mike solved and got everything working.? We also let him operate a little. :-)? :-)

??? We had four (4) operators, with several others helping with setup and logging and support.? Larry, WB5BEK, made a lot of CW contacts, John, KE5RS, operated FT8 and helped with logging, and I worked mostly phone (voice) with a little FT8.? Mike helped with the FT8 operations, including teaching me how to use FT8 in contest mode.? We made over 300 contacts during the weekend.? I'll let Mike give out the results when he sends our info to ARRL.

?? Thanks to Greg for bringing pizza and to Leonor for the dessert Saturday evening!? Much appreciated.

?? We had over 12 visitors on Saturday (I didn't ge the final count).? It was good to see everyone there.? Thanks for coming and visiting and helping!

Hope you all have a good week!? 73.

For Sale Items - FT-891 and other

Just bought a Yaesu FT-710 AESS from R&L Electronics - no tax, no shipping for $948. Thanks for the tip on R&L Deroy.

Now KG5GK says I've got too many radios so I'm selling my beloved Yaesu FT-891 with extension kit for $525.
N5TML wonders why I hadn't already sold it. Ha!

Also available, TYT - TH9800 Quad band FM transceiver - Used - w/extension kit - $140. I've got 3 of these and I really like them, but I'm gonna get rid of one from a car I recently sold.

See you Saturday at Field Day.
