Re: Comments on Bill Miller BBQ breakfast?

Thanks Tim for the detailed comments. Sounds like we are still gonna be at Bill Miller this Saturday.? We can discuss it there. So far, I have not heard of any better "meeting" place with:
- Moveable tables to arrange seating for 15
- clean
- order-your-own at the counter
- more selection than Smokey Mo's (pancakes)
- opens at 6:00 am for early birds

Other than too salty hashbrowns, I have not heard any specific food problems.? I tried to stretch the menu by ordering an omelet with cheese last week without success.

This week I'm bringing some oatmeal apple crisp to share.? Maybe that will entice you!

Re: Comments on Bill Miller BBQ breakfast?

So far I have missed the meetings at Bill Millers, so I do not know the specifics.?
I was wondering if there was a by-law or something about meeting at places that have restaurant servers but I see that the topic has been broached. Having waited tables a long time ago, I know what a difficult job it could be to wait on a group that is an ever-changing mass. I would vote "yep" to those kinds of places but remember that will throw another gripe factor into the mix.? It will be difficult to find a place that will be able to provide the kind of service that everybody would be happy with.?
That being said, Cafe 1431 is usually slow when my family goes there, and iHop is fine and has reasonable prices.
The Smokey Mo's over by Sprouts is a place we go to a lot, but unless they have added on recently, I don't think the tables would be conducive to a group like ours, and I haven't ever seen a room there.? Though I do like me some Smokey Mo's whenever I can get it.?
Bottom line, I'm good with anyplace, I just go for the company, so I will endure the sandpaper sandwiches and oyster shell pudding where ever they are.?

Smokey Mo's doesn't open until 7:00 am.? I don't know about the table arrangements.

How about Smoky Mos by the C P Sprouts? I think they may have a side room also?

6/10 meter project

Hi everyone,
For those that are interested in helping install the 6/10 meter split site repeaters this Saturday, we will be meeting at Smoky Mo¡¯s BBQ in the Whataburger shopping center in Round Rock around 9am. I¡¯ll be coming back from EMS shift work with a 2 hr drive, so if you can¡¯t be there by 9am, no worries- I¡¯m probably going to be late myself. From there we will form a plan. Talk in and event operations will be on 444.875 + 5mhz PL 100.0 analog so that the digital linked system won¡¯t be flooded with play by plays-LOL!

The weather looks like it¡¯s going to cooperate!

What about the 1431 Cafe? ?It¡¯s just down the road from J&J¡¯s and they open at 0630. ?

Of course in order of Brad and Bob, we could always go to the IHOP in Cedar Park. ?;-)

Comments on Bill Miller BBQ breakfast?

So Hambuds - what do you think of BM BBQ for a Saturday meeting place?? Share your comments.

Re: Bill Miller breakfast

I sent an email to BM BBQ headquarters in San Antonio. I asked them about the menu limitations for breakfast. Maybe they will call me. I am looking for more off-menu items that could be provided if we asked as we go thru the line.

i'll let you know what I found out.??

Re: Bill Miller breakfast

I felt it was pretty good, but I agree with Jimmy, it is a limited menu.? Bring you own sugar free syrup.

73, Mark

Re: Bill Miller breakfast

I thought it was OK.? Let's try it again. I was told by a manager that we could order anything that we wanted for breakfast. Don't feel that you're limited to what is on the menu or in the hot trays. I'm gonna try ordering an omelet even though it's not on the menu. If we have any complaints about the food, let's tell the manager.

Bill Miller breakfast

We need to ask, what was the opinion of the Bill Miller breakfast?

My opinion is only one dislike, is that is not a lot to select from

What I did have was not bad and the price was lots better
seems to be good coffee, but I need to bring my own cup

So, my opinion is fairly nuetral, and not apposed to the change if that is the consensus

Trial Breakfast at Bill Miller BBQ - THIS SATURDAY April 20

Based on the few who I have talked to, we pretty much agree to give Bill Miller BBQ a trial run for Saturday Breakfast.
It's on the NW corner of the intersection of Lakeline and 1431.

Looking forward to seeing you there 6:30-7:00 PM start time.

Hi Tim,

They do have gluten free stuff.? I need to do that also in addition to coffee... I'm not crazy about their BBQ venue and derivatives but that's a different issue...

Hi!

?? Another consideration while looking at new restaurants is the some of us (me especially) needs some of the breakfast items to be gluten-free.? I don't want to just drink the coffee. :-)
