Re: Ameritron
Lou Everett, Sr.
Alek- If you go to the MFJ Enterprises website, you will see a news message from them explaining the situation. ? They say they are working on being able to select and order parts, etc. from the site.? It is a whole new website.? Right now you can only order by phone.? Take a look at the message when you bring up the site: ? Lou WA5LOU On Fri, May 8, 2020 at 10:11 PM Alek Petkovic <vk6apk@...> wrote: G'day all. Lou WA5LOU |

Ameritron
G'day all.
My AL-1500 blower is getting pretty noisy and tired and I'm looking to replace it. I have looked at the Ameritron/MFJ wenbsite and I cannot, for the life of me, find a link where I can purchase spare parts. I have bought spare parts from Ameritron in the past and don't remeber having any difficulty in finding my way around the website. They have obviously changed the website and unfortunately made it impossible for me to find things now. That's progress, I guess. I am in Australia, so I don't particularly ring the US. Is anybody able to shed some light on how I maight place an order from that company? Thanks and 73, Alek, VK6APK. |

Array solution BPF-6 with an Dentron amp
Hey guys:
With all the "shelter in place" I am off work, so I have time to play in the shack....... Here is the question.... Has anyone used or modified for use an "ARRAY SOLUTIONS BPF-6" to use as a tuned input for either a Dentron GLA-1000 (AMP SUPPLY LA-1000), or a Dentron CLIPPERTON-L? I own both amps, and neither has a tuned input. I am trying to eliminate the manual tuner in front of the amp. On the AMP SUPPLY, I have tried an older LDG AT11MP, it (for some reason) will not reliably find a match on 75 phone. LDG had told me years ago that due to the age, some parts are unavailable, and they cant help me. I have checked all the hardware, and it is tight, therefore that appears to be a no go Anyone with any good ideas ? de Howard, N9KTW? |

Re: Plate blocking caps YC156
Hi Dave, ???? Glad you mentioned about the KVI type russian doorknobs as supplies are still around and I did get a few through the post recently. Also K15-5 type 6.3kV ceramics (proof tested to 9kV so ufb for some jobs) for some other purposes around the tubes and PSU. High KVAR ratings still attract a good price and of course they're a good size too, but worth snapping a pair up before they're all gone. Was going to mention it last night, but as it's my first post was rather hesitant, however I've broke the duck now. There is some data around very well worth a search for on them. 73 All, reading the thread with interest (am still building and fixing tube amps) Adam G0ORY On Sun, Mar 22, 2020 at 1:32 PM DAVE WHITE via Groups.Io <mausoptik=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Plate blocking caps YC156
Hi Tracey - I used one of these in my 3CX3000 amp Mine's a 2000pF rated at 20kV.? I have seen them on Ebay for about a tenner - a lot cheaper than the ceramic one you were looking at which I think was ?50.? I'd bought the big ceramic caps in the past off Mr Jandek at Friedrichshafen (a big stand in the fleamarket with Russian vacuum capacitors etc, usually on the back wall - remember him?)? for about 10 euros.? He wasn't there last year (and who knows what will happen this year?)? but he might still be in business.? He was based in Bielefeld last I heard. I can only state (rather unscientifically) that I haven't blown it up yet.? ?I also use one of the plastic LCC caps as a matching series capacitor on my ground-level fed 3/8 wave wibbly-wonky-sort-of-inverted-L on 160m.? ?The only time I damaged that was when I inadvertently reversed the Land Rover over the feedpoint.? I can't blame RF current for that, only clumsy driving. Something similar Hope that helps 73 Dave G0OIL

I think one of those should do the trick, Tracey.?? They're a bit physically big, so I'm not sure what they'd do to stray capacitances for tuning on 10m but quite a few builders use them.?? Cheers Dave G0OIL
