Re: Plate modulated GG triodes
Dear Clark, Thanks for posting the reply to a previous post regarding the power supplies for plate modulation. The schematic you included shows a grid reactor with a value of 20 henries. Wow. In this

Re: Plate modulated GG triodes
It is best to run a separate Power supply for the modulators.? You can run the RF deck and Modulator deck off the same supply of course.? The reason is that you can run higher voltage on the

Re: Plate modulated GG triodes
Gents, For those experimenting with Plate Modulation I need to ask about the power supplies and the modulation transformer(s). Especially with 3-400's as modulators. The filament supply must be stout,

Re: Looking for data on an Eimax Y-685A
I have several of these modules, they all use the same tube so no worries there. The cylindrical metal piece the tube screws into is electrically connected to the anode, but the actual heatsink isn't.

Re: Looking for data on an Eimax Y-685A
The heatsink appears to be 50X the size of the tube.? How much stray C is that heatsink alone going to add to the circuit ? Whether it's the Y-685A? ?or any other tube, I would suggest obtaining at
