¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Lou, ? If I¡¯m not mistaken you were active on the Yahoo TL-922 list a few years ago, and we exchanged some messages. I looked for your email address in my Outlook client but couldn't find it. Then I was lucky enough to find this group and just signed up yesterday. ? I understand the plate current meters are not available new. I¡¯m searching eBay for one, but who knows if one will show up or not. I will contact you about getting a meter. ? I don¡¯t think a tube suffered, as the RF meter and my external meters still show good output. I am, however, getting minimal readings on the Ig meter. About 15 mA on the 400 mA scale. ? The only hope of getting one is to find someone parting out an amp and selling off parts. ?The only other alternative I know of is to purchase a meter from me. ?Years ago when faced with repairing 922 amps with blown meters like yours I?could never find a replacement original meter in a timely fashion. ?I was forced to do something. ?After hours upon hours of investigation I finally came up with a solution that I would say is 98 % effect. ?I found a meter and worked it over and by only changing R7 with a different resistor that I supply it is a great alternative. ?I¡¯ve sold and replaced a few dozen meters over the years with raved responses to an almost impossible situation. ?If you can¡¯t find anything and want the quickest solution, send me an email off list to obtain one. ?I might add that you probably had a tube or tubes that short plate to grid and that¡¯s the reason for frying all those parts, if you grids are not grounded you probably also burned up a grid choke. ?I have those too. ?There are mods for protecting meters that you should implement going forward. ?I recommend ?replacing the bad tube(s) that probably caused that event.
