I am interested in learning more RIkki.? This is how one of my respected amplifier builders always handles the plate choke. He uses two, Never switched.? Each tuned.? Sounds like a good solution. Especially if you have space limitations.? Where are the resonances of your example?? What values are each of the chokes?? How did you build them?

Instead of a loaded plate choke with all its issues, I used two separate chokes located to eliminate (or minimize) undesirable coupling between them.? The series resonances of each individual choke are far apart.? The result of this combination is equivalent to an ideal high impedance broadband choke without series resonances. Think about it: a short circuit in series with an open circuit is equivalent to an open circuit :-)
