Just buy the cap from the ameritron AL-80B / AL-572.? It's a drop in replacement. On the original thread u started, scott showed the u tube video and the simple mod to get it to work..... by cutting off the fiberglass / delrin white shaft, and using a brass shaft coupler.... then a piece of 1/4" steel shaft ou through the front panel...done.? ?Those caps are dirt cheap, new.? Model 282-2112-1?

BTW, the tune cap from the ameritron AL-1500 / AL-1200 / AL-82 is way too long.
