I am old enough to know about that, and I had trouble in gaining access to VMSHARE, and other IBM related sites, because my id was ECE/XMAS, and internet e-mail was xmas@... ( xmas@@ecnet.net ).

Re: Drive Interrupt button using Hercules?
If the I command won't cause the breaking of an active CCW for a device, what is the proper method for doing it? I know with real iroon on a 3350 device, I was able to break an active CCW chain (in a

Please consider downloading and installing "FileZilla Client" on your WIndows, Mac or Linux PC ... It handles all of these issues, including FTPS and SFTP, quite nicely.? ;-) See:

Yes, obviously. But that replacement is a decision for network administrators, not vendors. That is my complaint. I know the implications, and I make informed choices. But it seems today that most

Re: Waterloo / VMShare tapes for VM/CE?
While the ftp protocol is still used in places, it is being replaced more and more with sftp, because ftp sends passwords in plain-text. As far as on macOS, the curl utility is readily available can

Re: Waterloo / VMShare tapes for VM/CE?
Works great here. ;) Replacing it with sftp sounds good on the surface, but sftp doesn't (as far as I'm aware) handle all of the conversions and such that ftp(s) does. To people on this list in

Not sure about the others but Safari still does have support. It has built in sftp. Just not ftp. I¡¯m sure the other browsers have built in sftp support as well. The real question is about the

Re: Drive Interrupt button using Hercules?
If I remember correctly, on the 3350 it was the attention button I pressed to generate the interrupt to break the CCW chain. Thanks for the "I addr" command.

I don't think so. That would just generate a standalone Device End (and/or Attention?). It's possible that might effectively interrupt a running channel program, but probably only because the OS will

Oh, that's surprising to hear, I didn't know that. I dumped MacOS when they started telling me how to work, around the 10.5 era. (I already know how to work!) The removal of a common, standard program

None that I've heard of. Of course it wasn't really reasonable for a *web* browser to support FTP in the first place, but the first ones did, and so built an expectation. Hardly. It comes with every

Does such a browser exist? Safari dropped FTP support ages ago and I don¡¯t think Edge supports it either. FTP support is hard to find. I need it and run an old MacOS using Parallels to support it.
