at least that helped passed the error. However, having VSAM files on the VSAMIN volume, linking to kicks 194 194 MR it bails out with a transaction aborted upon accessing the data through the Murach example.
Some error messages seem to pass by on the console but too fast to read before the kicks banner is shown.?
however, there seems to be kind of a flaw either with kicks for CMS or the Murach example. While this works nicely under MVS, when trying to access a record not contained in the VSAM file, the KICKS tran displays
its error message and then the terminal is stuck in an? system wait state from which one cannot recover.?

So I reckon the usability of KICKS might be limited under CMS.?
