Thanks to you and Mark and Steve for hosting this cheerful, comfy, educational, delicious and socially satisfying event.? Was good to have time to circulate and meet new friends from the museum and catch up with the lives of the old (friends) and dear.

On Saluda on Sunday keep your eyes and ears open for the choral contributions, energy and big smile of the one and only Nancy Higgins as well.

Had a great time, y’all . . . I lost track of how many burgers, brats, Italian Sausage, etc we put away but we did the airfield proud … thanks to all who came and that is to those who stuck a little in the cup toward goodies for the next free for all. Mark and I had a great time talking about the Kolb’s first flights and the tweaks that are being applied, one at a time. Once tuned in, the airplane should be a delight to fly. Meanwhile flight #2 met the earth convincingly (on purpose, .. I was trying to stretch my glide so I’d know when it would pay off in ground effect. Well, that’s my story. Kemper laughed)

Make plans to attend the Saluda Spring Concert “Mountain Song” featuring Hummel builder/pilot and, of course, Fairweather Flyer: John Wilkinson.

It sure is great to be back at the Airfield!
