Re: Rates?
And I really think we should not call it virtual meeting/facilitation.? I think calling it online meetings / facilitation is a better fit. Why does it matter? The word virtual in english means: "almost or nearly as described, but not completely or according to strict definition." sometimes it's reminiscent of a computer simulation. Is it almost a meeting? Is it almost facilitation?but not completely? :) I wrote a blog post on my toughts on it ? On Tue, Apr 27, 2021 at 3:36 PM Fran?ois Lavall¨¦e <flavallee@...> wrote:

Re: The 'other' Platforms for Video Conferences and Online Gatherings
Hello group, that's a great collection of tools to a fabulous question. I have seen wonder.me mentioned a couple of times already and just want to +1. It's super simple to use, quite intuitive, free of charge, and has the necessary features to facilitate networking, open space, and other more interactive activity formates online. We used Airmeet for a similar activity a while back but found that it requires a lot of bandwidth and is a little clunky when used from a phone. Otherwise, it's a great tool, too. I hope the above is useful. And please keep it coming.? ? Best, LArs |

Re: Rates?
Great post.
We definitely need a comparison point. Especially with the virtual meetings...too many people devaluate or underestimate their value, artists and musician included. Virtual content, including music and videos, was never free...it still takes as much effort as live presentation. I am currently in the last rounds of preparation for a 3 day meeting...will reply to this on Friday. I suggest a table and not a text based google doc. Suggested colomns Hourly rate daily rate Other rates Time of preparation per hour of delivery-- Rates for additional facilitor Cost of materials Minimum deadline for confirmation Cancellation/kill fee clauses Postponement clauses and fees etc Francois Lavallee , M.Sc. Rates?
Hi folks - I'm a long-time fan, first time contributor. Thanks for all the insights from more frequent contributors! I'm bidding to facilitate a board retreat for a local organization. While I've facilitated similar meetings, most of my facilitation practice has been in the context of an organizing or political campaign. Usually, I design and facilitate training or lead strategy and planning meetings related to a particular campaign. My experience bidding on stand-alone meetings is limited, so I'm having trouble figuring out a pricing structure. If anyone feels comfortable sharing your rate structure or system, I'd appreciate your insights. For folks who have something to say but prefer to remain anonymous on this particular question, drop your answer in this . Anything about hourly rates, full-project rates, etc. would be helpful. Re: The 'other' Platforms for Video Conferences and Online Gatherings
Hello Sara, Yes, InSpace can be embedded into QiqoChat (Room 5 of this ).? Unlike the other tools (Wonder, SpatialChat, etc), it requires sign-in.? This can be an advantage if you want to restrict access.? For embedding into Qiqo, I would recommend restricting access to the Qiqo page (if desired) and leaving the embedded tools open to anyone with the link so that people do not have to sign in twice. Thanks for sharing InChat.? Hearing all of these generous tool recommendations & reviews is the beauty of this list. Live Online Events | Engaging Communities | Real Collaboration Drop in for? Re: The 'other' Platforms for Video Conferences and Online Gatherings
Thank you @Michael Randel for sharing the video and post by @YannisAngelis. I learnt a lot, thank you for that. I recently had a demo of the tool At first it reminded me of Wonder and Toucan, but then I experienced their breakout rooms within the canvas. Like in a classroom setting, the participants can share screen/work on google doc/Miro within their own breakout room and walk out of it to join other b/o rooms or ask the teacher questions. The canvas also had presentation mode for participants to sit around the share screen or being on the screen to interact. Such fun!! @LucasCioffi: could InSpace be integrated in Qiqochat as well? ? |

Re: The 'other' Platforms for Video Conferences and Online Gatherings
Hi All, here is my experience with these tools over the past year. Wonder.me represents people with their video at the top of the page and their photo in the center.? Moving yourself across the screen involves?clicking?on the part of the screen you want to go to and then your icon slides over there. SpatialChat is simpler because the participant is represented only by a circle with their video in it.? To move yourself, you can drag yourself around.? We have found it to be quite?flexible for events where you want to move around and speak in small groups.? We embed it into a specific room inside a larger conference where the other rooms are using Zoom. Remo is ideal for networking where people want to exchange business cards.? It's less fluid (there are seats to sit in on the screen) but it is simple enough for people to use the first time around. For testing, you can use this? which weaves several of the tools listed (Wonder,?SpatialChat,?Kumospace,?Congregate,?WorkAdventure) into parallel breakout spaces, letting participants jump between them. At a recent conference they tried . It was awkward, the navigation wasn't natural I often overshot my target when moving somewhere. In addition the topic/conversation areas got ignored. Its an interesting idea that isn't well implemented - Mark |

The 'other' Platforms for Video Conferences and Online Gatherings
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Guys! I believe this group is the best one to ask about the alternative platforms for video-conference, specially the ones with these 'organic-fluid-natural¡¯ approach: Some examples to get my point out: (please add the other ones you know as well) Some questions I have: ? What is your experience with these platforms? ? How structured/unstructured is the participants experience? ? How different it is to design/plan/facilitate in these spaces? As in this Summer I¡¯ll study and test with some of these platforms, I would like to hear some thoughts and piggyback on your learnings and experiences.? Hi All,
This will be an informal, and interactive session starting in 60 minutes (11am Eastern / 8am Pacific) today (Thursday, April 22).? We'll be on Zoom and I'll share my screen so you can see what a well-designed conference space looks like on Qiqo -- while it's happening.
