Re: Experience with new WebEx Meetings breakout rooms?

Thank you very much Lucas. Interesting option with Qiqo and WebEx.

Hello Rowan,

To get around WebEx's limitation with only 400 participants in your meeting (I heard you mention that you will have 800 participants), you can use QiqoChat to connect WebEx meetings & webinars together in custom combinations.

For example, in the main room of your Qiqo event, you can connect a WebEx webinar?(were you planning on using a WebEx webinar for your plenary session?).? With the breakout spaces of your Qiqo event, you can connect?each to a separate WebEx meeting?(and each of these WebEx meetings can also have their own internal breakouts if needed).

WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams all feel boxy and structured, and that's good for conferences.? If you want to add some playful spaces to the?conference, you can create a few more breakout spaces on Qiqo (ie you can create multiple networking cafes/lounges/gardens)?and then you can embed tools like SpatialChat, Wonder, and Remo into each of them.

Here's a ?which shows Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, Google Meet, and Jitsi all in different breakout spaces.

When people join the video chat, the cost is USD $1/day per person?+ $0.01/minute per person (ie $3.40 per person for 4 hours). Here is the link to our .

Please feel free to send any additional questions.

Hi there,

I will be hosting an Open Space for about 800 people. They are not allowed to used Zoom on their work computers and have been working with WebEx internally.

In the past I have stayed away from Webex, as I have felt it was less flexible, intutive?and harder to create a good participatory atmosphere. I just the latest update and the interface has pretty much copied Zoom in terms of break out groups functionality. They offer 100 breakout rooms and meetings of 400 participants with video.

Do any of you have recent experience with WebEx breakouts. Any feedback on how it worked, what to look out for or any red flags. We still have the possibility of using Zoom from Browser or on a private device, but it would be a little less smooth.

Any reflections, recommendations and experiences warmly welcome.

Thank you.
