Re: A stepper motor controller
Well, I wanted to use a circuit of my own design because I wouldn't want to burden a microcontroller with the task. I also wanted to use something I know I made, so getting a specific IC wasn't in the

clock output Hi Don, Thanks again for the help, can I just run this past you to make sure I understand things. I connect pin 3 of the 555 to the pin 15 of the '157 Then on the '157 connect: Pin 8 to

Re: Displacement current
A displacement current appears when an AC voltage is put over a capacitor. The cap ensures a coupling between the two ends of the wire. The displacement current is -- defined -- as /epsilon_0 /partial

Re: Building color LCD controller board
You can only just make out Sumi on the flexi connector. We use them here, although, not in that particular number of circuits. The actual manufacturer is Sumitomo, but most people and books reference

Re: IBM ThinkPad question...
Yes, Li-Ions are very different beasts and need special chargers. If you used a nicad charger on a LiIon, at the very least it wouldn't charge and at the worst the cell would rupture and catch fire.

MAYBE! Heh, bought a colour LCD and an S1D13706 controller chip and I'm collecting as much data as I can while waiting for shipping. Found the controller datasheets on the epson site but not much

Re: what component to use to build a bridge rectifier??
Now here we differ. Those parts are rated at 1A as an "absolute maximum rating", and I surely wouldn't use them for "up to an amp", maybe use them in stuff that would go to half or three-quarters of

Re: IBM ThinkPad question...
No! The charger in the laptop won't charge it, and it could cause problems with the internal power supply. Get the right battery, or rebuild that one with the correct cells. Alien Steve I saw shows

Re: Displacement current
It's one of Maxwell's things. It is the current resulting from storing energy in a capacitor. We know there will be a current flow when adding or removing charge from a capacitor. Where does it go?

I got this used ThinkPad Notebook and of course the battery is dead. I saw a few on e-bay, and the model number is the same, the picture of it shows that it is identical also. Except for 2 things.
