timer for adc0808
hi i'm new to this but am willing to learn. I need to make a clock that drives the 0808ADC. it's for an A2D converter. anything between 550- 640 kHz is ok i assume.i can't find a clock crystal. any

Re: A stepper motor controller
Thank you for the link. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now, I can get my Homemade CNC machine to work using a parallel port interface.

Re: OT sheet metal cutting
Tom, You can either spend about $250 ( OUCH) for D-sub 9 chassis punch. Or you can use a tool called a nibbler to make the hole size close, and finish it off with a file. Personally I have not had

oops it's a MAX127 ADC
I mistyped the part #; it's a MAX127, not 187. I had the right datasheet too, just typed it from memory instead of looking to my left. Same concern about using input resistors, though. Mike P.S. Maxim

Re: MAX187 ADC
The MAX187 has an I2C interface. So I have it connected to 3 parallel port lines: one for data out, one for data in, and one for the clock. Very simple. This is also how parallel port PIC and AVR

Re: [electronics] Re: battery-load tester
true, I was thinking more a way to do QA on the batteries. light bulbs would only load down a battery up to a point. But a Battery can recover. Part of the the test is to measure the core. most UPS do

Re: Displacement current
The simplest way to think of it is this: A cap is a cut in the wire. In the wire itself there is an AC current, so between the plates there also has to be a "current". A coupling however is mostly due

Re: MAX187 ADC
This is just proclaiming my ignorance, but I didn't know you could connect a serial ADC to a parallel port. The MAX187 has a serial output. I'd like to know about this too. Oh--and you have studied

MAX187 ADC
I've got a MAX187 ADC hooked up to my PC parallel port; to test before I wire it to a uC. And I'm having some trouble reading the correct values. For one thing I'm not clear from the datasheet whether

Re: A stepper motor controller
By "not automacially reset", I was aiming for a count of "0, 1, 2, 3" and then it stops. Preferably at a high level on 3 so that winding stays energized and holds the stepper motor at that position.
