Just recieved ten Piezo film sensors (LDT0-028K from Measurement
Specialties, Digikey part # MSP1006-ND. <$2 each!
The basic idea behind getting these is making a (crude) vibration
measurement device for work. Check bearing wear etc. Convert the
voltage to G forces and display the average kind of thing.
Pretty spiffy little units. Hooked one up to my O-Scope and started
experimenting. Flick with a finger, make silly noises, etc.
Everything showed on the O-Scope. No batteries required either!
Going to take one and my O-Scope to work tomorrow, tape the sensor
to a bearing and see what kind of waveforms I get.
