Re: Auto-Oiler replacement for Myford and other drip oilers.

Hi Julian Marc and guys.
Reference the Real Bull lathe, many years ago I cut a rectangular hole in the top?of the headstock, and fitted
a cover with a perspex. I was going to drill and tap 2 holes into the perspex and fit the standard type?
drip oilers, but of course never got round to it. I regularly remove the cover and spray the H/L gears with motorcycle chain oil.
Silly question, reference Myford lathes, where does the excess oil go ?, or does it stay in the base of the headstock.
I have linked a youtube video of an oiler made by my friend in the UK David Abbot, also known as Myfordboy.
He is one of the best all round hobbyists I know, from home made castings to steam engine construction.
Just check out the rest of his videos.

Cheers

John

We are in for a longish winter, so time to play, and I have a few "lecky" bits and oilers etc.
I will keep you informed of my progress ??? and no doubt will?be in touch.
John, I've not heard of a Real Bull lathe before so I Googled it.? It doesn't appear to have drip oilers or will you be fitting the Auto-Oiler to another machine.

If you need any additional info etc, Mark and I will be only to willing to assist.
