Hi George and the gang
Well my fondness for N scale and all those little things I grew up with hasn't waned. But the prospects of a collection no longer seen and even less likely a layout of any description, now that I'm an unofficial pensioner too, means inevitably I must resign my spectator post on this and other groups. I notice many fade away and it's been a long time since the heyday of Y** groups.
I lost a dear friend back in 2017 and with him, his massive layout on which I spent many enjoyable hours for exactly 10 years, (I was also living there looking after his beloved cats! quite often)- doing scenery (it was a typical plywood central in 2007) and ribbing his 'traditional' outlook on terrain (ie British) and exotic mixture of fantasies (US/ British/ Japanese! and a few 'proxy' New Zealand models) of running collections. He sold and parted up the layout prior to his unfortunate last days to save his families burden.
So in a week or so I'll sign out, and George I'll be in touch separately about UMTRR,
but thanks all for the entertainment,
regards davew
