Re: What Lies in the Heart. Mikayla/The Dragon

(Mikayla)

Mikayla¡®s mine was blown at what Angus was revealing. Could this really be true? Could he really like her? As Angus ?continue to speak, then it all made sense. Of course he didn¡¯t like her. At least not in that way. Not in the way she was starting to like him.

?

based on Angus¡¯ his words he liked her for what it was she could potentially bring him. What was she might be able to do? Mikayla sighed if nothing else, she didn¡¯t want to take that hope away from Angus.

?

¡° very well I¡¯ll stay and I¡¯ll do whatever I can to help you both.¡±

As he stepped into the room, talons changed from claws to fingers. Scales change to skin and hair. His once large, hulking beast like body began to transform into that of man. The room around them changed from stonewalls to open fields.?

?

often in the distance a beautiful, raven haired girl, with lovely skin the color of rich milk, chocolate, and crystal clear eyes ran from him, barefoot in the clearing, the sound of her laughter tingling on the wind like in times of a bell.

?

¡°Catch me if you can,¡± her voice, said laughingly

"Thank you, m'lady!" Angus gushed, grabbing her hand and kissing it profusely in gratitude.? "You are doing a good and generous thing.? I must let the Master know at once!"? And with that, he bowed and hurried away.? Please, he prayed as he ran down the corridor to where he thought the Dragon might be, let the Master for once be governed by his calmer better nature and not by his angry bestial one.??

?

When Angus reached the Dragon's quarters though, he found them empty.? He could feel the Dragon's presence in the keep beyond the room though and quickly went off in search, but even as he did so, he sensed a change occurring, the beast aura shifting and fading and an older aura - a human one - taking its place.? Was it possible, he wondered.? The old servant quickened his pace, following the luring feeling to a less familiar part of the keep, where older memories dwelled.

?

Gazing down at his restored human self in wonder, the man looked back up again when he heard the woman - Jerusha? - calling to him teasingly.? Could it be her?? Somehow, impossibly, her?? And he once again, impossibly, himself?

?

"Jerusha!" he called out, running after the woman in a green open field, the grass lush and familiar under his bare feet.? The field seemed endless, time flowing in stretches, sometimes the distance keeping the woman far away, but other times tantalizingly close, just out of reach.?

?

And then suddenly he caught her, turning her about to face him.? She felt real, solid and warm beneath his touch, her eyes clear and bright meeting his.? He touched her hair, the dark strands fine and silken in his fingers.? "I've missed you," he murmured, burying his face in her abundant locks.? "Please let this not be a dream.? Please... stay."
