Another long overdue update... A launch event was held at Wentworth Woodhouse on Tuesday for the new Yutong 'electro' fleet (photos at https://twitter.com/MattK1979 for those interested). The 23 vehicles, fleet numbers 73001-23 are registered YH24 LZS-X, YH24MBF/U/V/X/Y/MDE/F/J/K/N/O/U/V/X/Y/Z/EU and - subject to the charging infrastructure at the depot being completed on time - should begin entering service a week on Monday on routes 221 (Rotherham - Doncaster) and 22X (Rotherham - Barnsley). Resulting cascades out of Rawmarsh should see off the remaining MANs in the fleet. Recently open-topped Scania/E400 15717 (YN60 CKK) and ex Lincolnshire B7TL/Wrights 16943 (FX06 AOE) are both now in the Peak Sightseer livery. Two open top Trident/ALX400s (18186 - MX54 LPN and 18303 - WA05 MGX) plus one open top Enviro 400 (TBC) are coming in on loan from Stagecoach South West to provide 8 vehicles (15717-9, 16943, 18467 + the 3 loanees) to cover the 6 PVR Peak Sighteer operation for this year which commences on Saturday. Scania/E400 15717 (YN60 CKO) has been converted to open top. It still retains 'beachball' livery for now but I presume will gain Peak Sightseer livery soon. Ian

As a result of the service changes over the weekend, E200MMCs 26025-8 have moved from Rawmarsh to Barnsley depot (along with operation of service 226 Barnsley - Thurnscoe), and E200s 36186/92 have moved from Ecclesfield to Rawmarsh (along with operation of service 72 Chapeltown to Wath, which is also extended beyond Wath to Swinton to replace the 217). E200MMCs 37606/12/13 are now officially on the allocation at Chesterfield having been in use there from the reserve fleet for some time, freeing up MAN/E300s 22614/647 to move from Chesterfield to Rawmarsh to see out their days there (service 221 increased in frequency requiring more vehicles) before being replaced by the new Yutongs from next month. The registrations are in also for this year's Peak Explorer service which this year has 2 routes - a "red" service which is essentially what ran last year around Chatsworth and Bakewell, and a new "blue" service between Chatsworth and Castleton. Volvo B7TL 19643 (FX06 AOE) which has worked in Lincoln in open top format, and E400 19336 (MX08 UCF) which was de-roofed in an accident in Manchester back in February are both recorded on the fleetcard as having joined the Yorkshire fleet. Hi Noticed today (28/03/2024), there appears to be a hybrid E400 parked in Ecclesfield depot (in the new livery) that looks like its had the entire lower front removed (including the pilars/posts supporting the upper deck). I couldn't identify the number, though I believe it would be easy to identify if you stood on Green Lane and looked through the fence. I did wonder if it had come as a doner vehicle, and it has had its front removed to repair a damaged native Ecclesfield one. I passed while driving, so I couldn't really pay too much attention to it. Hi all At Stagecoach East Midlands the elderly Trident/ALX400s which have now retired from the Skegness Seasiders work lost their cherished registrations in favour of their 'as new' registrations earlier this month and are now for disposal. Volvo B7TL/Wright 16943, the former Lincoln Tour Bus which was PIW 4457, has also gained it's original registration (FX06 AOE) and is also for disposal. Former "Rocky the Seasider" 19169 has now been repainted as the new Lincoln Tour Bus and been re-registered from TIL 7901 to PIW 4457. The "new" Skegness Seasiders fleet - former Manchester E400 Hybrids - are being prepared for use and will be gaining the plates previously carried by the Tridents/19169. The first few converted Hybrids will be on display tomorrow between 11am and 1pm at Skegness Bus Station for anyone in the vicinity. Ian

The first of the new Yutong E12s destined for Rawmarsh depot is now in the country and I gather at Pelican's facility at Castleford for fitting out (Pelican are the UK Yutong agent). Delivery of all 23 - to be fleet numbers 73001-23 - was due by the end of March to allow all to enter service in April, but gather that won't now happen due to the situation in the Red Sea and the boats from China carrying these having to make a lengthy diversion. Once all in service they will convert routes 22X (Barnsley - Rotherham) and 221 (Doncaster - Rotherham) to electric - or "electro" per the livery they will carry - operation. Ian

Further new E400MMCs to enter service at Holbrook are 11708 (YX73 PDY), 11710 (YX73 PEO) and 11712 (YX73 PFD). The entry to service now of 15 of the 20 expected E400MMCs has started the cascade of vehicles out of Holbrook. E400 Hybrids 12170/2/7/8 are at Chesterfield, with more to follow, and E200MMCs 37610/11 moving to Barnsley, again with more to follow. 15710 (YN60 CKD) has gained an all-over advert for EE mobiles. Always find it strange when they apply the advert on a vehicle in the new fleet livery rather than using it to cover up a vehicle still in old livery (of which may of the 157xx at Ecclesfield still are!). Following some confusion, the identities of the 11 E300s acquired from the (now defunct) Stagecoach Wigan operations are 27207/8 (SL64 HYV/W), 27229-33 (SK15 HFR/S/T/U/V), 27236/7 (SK15 HFY/Z) and 27824/5 (MX62 LSY/TJ). 27207/8 and 27231/2/6 are in use at Chesterfield. 27233 and 27824 are in use at Barnsley, as is 27237 fresh from repaint in to the latest livery. 27229/30 and 27825 are for Barnsley once repainted. Now for the confusion... 27235 (SK15 HFX) also came over to Yorkshire for repaint in to Bee Network livery and return to Manchester. It has however seen temporary use at Barnsley until space was available for it to be painted. Ian

Hi all I gather a number of vehicles from the Stagecoach Wigan fleet (which ceases to exist at the weekend when the first round of Manchester franchising kicks in) are to move over to Stagecoach Yorkshire, believed to be a number of E300s and possibly a few E400s too. Returning to the saga of the E400MMCs for Holbrook... 11700/01/04 from the Holbrook batch were diverted to Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancs as their new vehicles had been delayed. Whilst it was initially anticipated these would return to Yorkshire once the M&SLvehicles were ready that appears not to now be the case, and those 3 are to remain over on the wrong side of the Pennines, and instead 3 of the delayed M&SL vehicles are coming to Yorkshire to make up the numbers. The 3 substitutes are 11626 (YX73 PFU), 11647 (YX73 PGF) and 11649 (YX73 PGO). Thus the Holbrook batch will now be 11626/647/649/697-99/702/3/5-16. Ian

Delivery has commenced of the (Scarborough-built) batch of 20 E400MMCs due here. The first arrival is 11700 (YX23 OYP). The batch runs from 11697 to 11716 inclusive. It is possible that many of the batch will loose their booked '23' registrations in place of '73' registrations which start next week. Ian
