An additional new Volvo B11RT/Caetano coach has arrived for additional National Express work from Chesterfield depot - BV19 KPL (fleet no 54412). Gold Scania/E400s 15190/1 (YN64 AOA/B) have had X1 branding added to their Gold livery ahead of the commencement of the new X1 Chesterfield - Nottingham service on Sunday. I gather the Gold Scania/E400s due from Stagecoach Oxfordshire to top up the Gold fleet (due to the above) are to begin arriving over the weekend. Ian Virus-free. www.avg.com

ex Oxfordshire 'Gold' Scania/E400s 15609/10 (OU10 BHA/D) have arrived at Chesterfield depot and are being prepared for service. A further 6 are to follow (reportedly 15533-7 and 15611 - but that may change!). In a change to the planned fleet moves that occurred in October, E200 36719 (YN62 BDU) moved from Barnsley to Ecclesfield (not Holbrook as initially planned) resulting in similar 36413 (YN11 FFD) remaining at Holbrook rather than moving to Ecclesfield. Reserve fleet Dart/Pointer 35112 (YN06 WCO) is in use at Rawmarsh as the seasonal 'delay buster' vehicle, used when shopping traffic around Parkgate in Rotherham throws the schedules out. In previous years a MAN/ALX300 from the reserve fleet has undertaken this role. Ian

For those not in the area... It's raining, a lot. Conditions and river levels said to be as bad as when the major floods occurred in Sheffield in June 2007. The River Don has over topped at Meadowhall, and most major roads in and out of Sheffield are under water (Penistone Road at Hillsborough, Chesterfield Road at Heeley, Langsett Road at Oughtibridge to name a few). As such, Stagecoach have suspended all services in Sheffield for the remainder of the evening (though some vehicles are still out trying to finish their route some hours after the suspension was put in place) and I gather First are shortly to do likewise. Additionally the Stagecoach depot at Ecclesfield is at risk of flooding, so vehicles are being moved over to Holbrook and Rawmarsh depots at present. Ian

Gold Scania/E400 15609 (OU10 BHA) entered service on the X10 (Barnsley - Leeds) route on Friday. Along with 15610 these are generally covering the X10 at present, with a further 2 Gold DDs being prepared for Barnsley. I gather the former mainstays of the X10, Volvo/Plaxtons 53714-6 are shortly to leave the fleet, one going to Stagecoach South East and the other two 'to Scotland". Ian

MAN/E300s 22628/30 (YN08 JHJ/JFK) have transferred from Rawmarsh to Chesterfield, with 22629 (YN08 JFJ) to follow. In return, Rawmarsh have gained E200s 36987/8 (SN63 YPK/L) from Chesterfield, with 36986 (SN63 YPJ). Scania/Omnidekkas 15412 (YN54 VKB), latterly used at Chesterfield and 15413 (YN54 VKC), latterly used at Ecclesfield, have been sold to ConnexionsBuses (Harrogate Coach Travel) with 15414 (YN54 VKD) - which is still in use at Barnsley - to follow, Connexions already have sister 15416 (YN54 VKF) which they acquired in October, and is now registered 5209 UA. E200MMC 26026 (YX65 RBO) which was painted in to the 'ocean green' version of the new Stagecoach livery (the version for use on 'special services') for the launch last week is having the green bits painted over with the (new) standard colours. Gather other members of the E200MMC fleet allocated to Rawmarsh are next in line to receive the new livery. Ian
