Re: Stagecoach Yorkshire 22/09
Hi all A further update... 27234/5 have remained in Manchester, with 27824/5 (MX62 LSY/LTJ) moving over in their place. The batch is to be split between Barnsley and Chesterfield depots - 27233 at least is already in use from Chesterfield. Quick update to the below... The E300s expected from Wigan are 27207/8 (SL64 HYV/W) and 27229-37 (SK15 HFR/S/T/U/V/W/X/Y/Z). Suspect their arrival will see off further MAN/E300s. Also leaving the fleet this weekend are the quartet of Trident/ALX400s which are returning to Cumbria at the end of their loan at Chesterfield. Stagecoach Yorkshire 22/09
Hi all I gather a number of vehicles from the Stagecoach Wigan fleet (which ceases to exist at the weekend when the first round of Manchester franchising kicks in) are to move over to Stagecoach Yorkshire, believed to be a number of E300s and possibly a few E400s too. Returning to the saga of the E400MMCs for Holbrook... 11700/01/04 from the Holbrook batch were diverted to Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancs as their new vehicles had been delayed.? Whilst it was initially anticipated these would return to Yorkshire once the M&SLvehicles were ready that appears not to now be the case, and those 3 are to remain over on the wrong side of the Pennines, and instead 3 of the delayed M&SL vehicles are coming to Yorkshire to make up the numbers. Not quite - 11700 was correctly delivered to Holbrook but it and 11701, plus at least 1 destined for Hull and a couple destined for somewhere down south have gone on loan to Merseyside and South Lancs as some of their batch of identical vehicles (but on a different production line) have been delayed and M&SL needed the vehicles to allow for a series of cascades to happen. Once the M&SL vehicles are delivered 11700/1 should move to Holbrook. Delivery has commenced of the (Scarborough-built) batch of 20 E400MMCs due here.? The first arrival is 11700 (YX23 OYP).? The batch runs from 11697 to 11716 inclusive.? It is possible that many of the batch will loose their booked '23' registrations in place of '73' registrations which start next week. Ian |
Stagecoach Yorkshire 03/08
Hi all Apologies for the long overdue update... 15719 (YN60 CKU), the first of the pair of Scania/E400s to be converted to open top and repainted for the Peak Sightseeing service (the other being 15718 which is still being converted) has entered service today at Chesterfield on the Peak Sightseer work.? This has allowed Trident/ALX400 17240 (X368 NNO) to return to Stagecoach North East.? Once 15718 is in use, the other 2 loaned Tridents (17643/5) will also return to the North East.? This will result in 15718/9 being the 'regular' vehicles on the Peak Sightseer with 18467 (LX55 EPV) as spare. 3x Enviro 300s have arrived at Chesterfield from Stagecoach South - 27564/5/70 (GX58 GNN/O/Z).? Not sure if these are for use (the PVR increases in September due to the award of the contract for network of services provided to Barnsley College) or for conversion to Driver Trainers. Finally, there has been a clear out of late of withdrawn/stored vehicles - the majority of the withdrawn MAN/E300s and Solos that were in store at Chesterfield have been removed by the scrappers, along with the former Megabus coaches (of the 540xx batch) that had been stored at Chesterfield ever since their use on Chesterfield - Derby rail replacement work back in 2018! Yorkshire Traction Rapido National
I've today had an update on the expected?YTC (and other) National models. Sadly, it looks as though it won't be happening. Rapido Trains UK have advised that they have unfortunately had to place their new Leyland National bus project under indefinite suspension. This is due to current global economic uncertainty and a lower interest level than anticipated. We will retain these items on your wishlist and if Rapido decide to revisit this project in the future we will notify you. |
Re: Stagecoach Yorkshire 'Peak Sightseer'
One would have thought they'd have got the MOT sorted before the start of the service.

Re: Stagecoach Yorkshire 'Peak Sightseer'
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou wait years for an opentop in the
area, then two services from two companies come along at once.
The other service (Hulleys) is
currently being run with a closed top though, as the OT is away
for MOT work.

Stagecoach Yorkshire 'Peak Sightseer'
The new Peak Sightseer service commences this weekend. PVR is 2, generally to be operated by Open Top Vehicles, and worked by Chesterfield depot. Long term, a couple of the Scania/E400s from Ecclesfield depot which are yet to be made fully CAZ compliant will be converted to open top format for this work and painted in to a special livery.? Open Top Trident/ALX400 18467 (LX55 EPV) has also been added to the Yorkshire fleet as part of the pool of vehicles for this service, this has now been painted in to standard Stagecoach livery with "Peak Sightseer' branding applied. Until the Scania/E400s are ready, open top Trident/ALX400s 17240 (X368 NNO), 17643 (W643 RND) and 17645 (W645 RND) have come in on loan from Stagecoach North East.? These are also in standard Stagecoach livery with branding applied. Ian |
