This is the 1939 Register (not a census) taken at the start of WW2

If you haven¡¯t come across it before then this video on findmypast will help ¨C They released it first


The register was kept up to date till the 1980¡¯s

?

The reason that Gladys¡¯s surname is crossed out is that she married someone with the surname SCOTT ¨C the date and the KOL show when and where the change was made.

The two other entries in the family show other possible children who have not yet died ¨C or the birth details on the death do not match. Also possible that they died recently and the details of deaths post 2006 are not available

Checking the 1936 census.

Found my grandparents on my mother's side.

Looking at the actual record book image you can see that my mother's name Sandham Gladys is crossed out and the name Scott inserted.

Some other text dated.
