Option one (direct replacement) follows.
One source of the silicone/plastic tubing is model airplane fuel line. ?I was lucky enough to have a general purpose hobby shop near me that had several diameters I could choose from.
A sample of the model airplane fuel line is at the web address below; there are several different sizes out there. You may need to copy and paste the web address below to get it to work.
Alternatively, using Google to search for model airplane fuel line brings a lot of results.
Option two follows. ?
Replacing the motor-to-gearbox connection with universal joints is more complicated, but results in less machine friction. ?You also need to know the size of the shaft on the gearbox and the size of the motor shaft (I learned the two are not necessarily the same on at least two projects). ?Two purveyors of universal joints are Hobbytown of Boston and Northwest Short Line (www.nwsl.com). ?
