Never solved this and have to think it's a data corruption problem. I created a new song, called the same styles into it, and re-specified the chord changes. And it worked... All is well, though still

Occasionally ill copy a pattern from a preset to an unused track of a different kind, in order to make it editable. Similarly, occasionally, i find that transposition has no effect on the new user
