Probably just a bad card, you might find getting another one on eBay makes the issues totally go away.

Generally speaking a 128mb card is the max but that size is more prone for issues on a QY (including *potentially* slower reads and writes) so I usually play it safe and go with a 32mb card since that is still a HUGE amount of storage for MIDI/QY files (since MIDI/QY are generally very, very small) and 32mb cards are pretty cheap.

On the other hand, in my RS7K I use a 128mb XD card with a XD-> Smartmedia adaptor and it has always worked flawlessly (and the bigger size is needed due to ability to load samples).

I had been meaning to try the combo on the QY, but I never bothered since I have so many 32mb, 16mb, and 8mb cards for the QY100...so storage has never been an issue.
