Yeah. The CR-78 is hard to re-create even if you have good samples because the ¡°latin¡± sounds are triggered by the internal clock.
I would take the electronic percussion kit and add effects. The main thing about that particular drum mix is a (cheap analog) delay with a sweeping LFO that¡¯s bending the pitch.
Compare with Fun Boy Three¡¯s The Lunatics (Have Taken Over the Asylum).
Ultimately you might want to get those sounds from an external device and just use the QY100 as a temporary rhythm track. That¡¯s why I am adding MIDI to my Rhythm Ace FR6M.
