Re: No receive full scale

Ok I can hepl6you here, when I get home next week, I will guide you through the repair.

Check the circuits and find the AGC line, it will close to the IF output, follow it back to the RF amp.

There maybe a negative rail generator, if so check this is working.

For now

Re: FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES

I never use this plug into the extension speaker socket.?

It not needed if you use the mic input on the PC or laptop and use the amp on the soundcard to boost the signal get the desired input level.?

I think was designed for soundcard interfaces that have low level input line-in only.

Ah, that's much better.

So, a question:? With that bottom right connector going to the external speaker jack, the audio input to the computer's sound card becomes dependent on the volume setting on the front panel which is annoying and prone to error.? I presume it also interrupts the internal speaker, so can't simply be left in.?

Is it needed?

Re: FT-847 IN TX ALL TIMES

Quite agree this would be an improvement.? I used a 4N25 optocoupler on my FT-100 interface (that has a slightly different configuration) and still use it today with the FT817

Built several of these over?the years for myself and friends each one more nearer than the previous one.?

It works both for SSB and FM and doesn't affect the CAT interface if you are not using the matching FC-20 auto atu.?
