Dear
friends,
I
want to offer a ???? ?? to all of the members
of our kehillah who made the trip to Washington DC to show the American
government our passion in support of Israel. I am only sorry that cell phone
service was overwhelmed by the crowd so that I couldn¡¯t find and link up with
you there (Yechiel and I drove down the previous evening), although I did run
into David and Jocelyn Stern towards the end of the program.
It
was inspiring to see Jews who had come from all over the United States and
Canada to stand with Israel yesterday. All of my siblings were there ¨C although
I couldn¡¯t find them in the crowd either!
It
was important for us to be present and to be seen by our elected officials and
by the rest of the country. Perhaps it was even more important that we showed
the people of Israel that we stand with them.
That
having been said, I will admit that I was disappointed with the program. Since
it was clear before and after the fact that a lion¡¯s share of the crowd would
be Orthodox Jews, it was painful to see that the only Orthodox Jews in the
program were some of the singers, and the only clergyman to speak was Pastor
Hagee. But we didn¡¯t go for the program; we went to demonstrate our solidarity
with Israel in its hour of need. I
am aware that there are ?????? ????? who saw things
differently, including some about whom I could say ¨C to use the Biblical
expression ¨C that ???? ??? ?????, their stature in
Torah and ???? ????? is much greater than
mine. I fear that there are those in our community who will want to relitigate
this issue in the days to come. That would be unfortunate. Certainly, all the
good that the rally might have accomplished will be for naught if it leads ?"? to ??????
and ????? ?????? ?????.
In
any event, while the rally was important in its way, the most important thing
is to continue to rally in ????? and ????, to increase our Torah learning and dedication to ???, to intensify our ????
???"? and our ???? ?????, and to live with the
constant awareness that ??? ??? ?? ?? ????? ??? ?? ?????
??????, our only reliance is on Father in heaven.

Chapter 2 speaks of a time when the nations of the world unite against us,?but Hashem laughs at the?futility of their efforts. And chapter 130 tells us that Hashem hears our cries when we cry out to Him from the depths of our heart.

March on Washington Rally
As many of you heard there will be a March on Washington rally on Tuesday November 14 at 1:00 PM
We are trying to arrange a bus or multiple busses in coordination with some of the community shuls.
Our initial attempts are showing that finding a bus may be difficult but we are trying. Please indicate if you are interested ASAP so we can try to work on this.
