Registration

I’d like to join you all for the Star Party. I have a 28ft travel trailer. Would there be space for me? Can I register when I arrive? Early afternoon on Wednesday.?
Thanks, Bruce?

Are DOGS allowed?

A question today: Are DOGS allowed?
The happy answer is YES THEY ARE!

The rules are simple and common sense:

In a nutshell,

  1. They must be leashed or under control at all times
  2. Clean up after them, bags may be available
  3. If they become a nuisance, time to leave
  4. Provide sufficient water at all times, there is a spigot for potable water near the pavilion and playground, and i think also in the RV lot.

Please familiarize yourself with state park rules for pets before arriving.? This is a beautiful park, there are several trails of varying difficulty, and take precautions for ticks or poison ivy. ?Trails are multi-purpose, used by hikers, bicycles, and horseback riding.? Be alert for other park users, and share the trails with others.

I hope you can attend, it’s a great place.? At the very least, thanks for supporting the effort!

Phil

Hello everyone!
Wow, where did this summer go?? I hope you all had a safe and fun summer!??

The September party is around the corner, and we have registrations coming in.? It's less than 2 weeks away!
REGISTER HERE NOW--->

I was contacted by DVAA members, who will now be holding their club party at the September party.? Be sure to join us if you can!

Meteor Man Dave Holden is planning to attend, driving in from West Virginia.? He will be bringing his new line of meteor knives!

I have been preparing to make some changes, like switching to gas stoves and griddles, and will make them available for use on site by attendees.? With a Giant Supermarket 5 miles away in Buck, and ice available there, too, you will be able to pick up meals and supplies nearby.? Bring a cooler, can opener, silverware, plates, towels, and a mug, and you can feast to your liking.

I will also be able to provide hot water on site for coffee, tea, cocoa, oatmeal, etc.? I'm also going to be testing making hot water for the showers, too (a work in progress).

Please remember to bring the most important thing... You !? With your support, I can add the equipment that makes this one of the nicest and most accessible parties on the East Coast.

Thank you all, I hope to see you there!
Phil

Thanks, Christa.? You were here when the wildfire smoke was around.? If you liked your visit, please let others know about us.? Perhaps others would like to check out this party if it gets full or it's closer for them.
Have a great time!

There are no outlets on the field.? The Pavilion will have power Saturday, and there are some other places that could have power.? In addition to that, I would run a small generator for charging during the day.

I'm in the process of updating the group list, and will try to send out something before the end of this weekend.

I believe you're the person who showed off the night scope optics?

?Hi guys?

I'm with the Chesmont astronomical society and we are looking for help with our annual starfest held at Hopewell furnace near french creek state park on August 19 (rain date 20th) we are short on our ten objects row where scopes of different sizes focuses on different deep sky objects. If anyone is interested I can send what objects need to be covered and the best sized scope to cover them.?

I wanted to reach out to you because I came out to my first York Co star party back in June.

Thank you for any help

Clear skies
