Yes correct Jeff.? Tenters and smaller campers are allowed on the field for the duration.? You are permitted to go touting during daylight hours.? The field is hardback, but tent-peg friendly, dries quickly, no mud, and has a gentle slope down towards the south, allowing a decent southern, Eastern, and western horizon, north star visible, yet no lights or large light domes visible on clear nights.
RVs in the parking lot nearer the bathrooms also have a good observing field.? There are 4 group camping sites in the trees behind the RV lot, and are not always used.? We are "renting" the largest (100 sites).??
For this area, even when it rained most of the week in 2019, fog was at a minimum, holes in the clouds revealed the milky way, even visible when the moon peaked over the eastern trees.? Nice.
