G¡¯day Kerry,

?

Thanks for your reply.? Unfortunately I don¡¯t know what town, parish or even County he came from.? I have seen a reference to him joining the Marquis of Wellington at Dorset but I have also seen a reference that the ship left from Plymouth in Devon which could be around 75 miles away

?

Regards

Chris

?

I¡¯m trying to find any information on the above bloke.? Supposedly born in England in approximately 1794 (That¡¯ll be easy to find??).?

?

He is supposed to have left Plymouth on 1st September 1814 as a crewmember on the Marquis of Wellington 225 ton, Captain Geo. BETHAM with 200 male prisoners for New South Wales.? The ship arrived in Sydney on 27 January 1815.? He had a mate William or John DAY who was also a crewmember on the same ship.

?

He may be recorded under any of the groups surnames in addition to WALLAN.

?

Any information in England would be welcome.? No crew list seem to exist in Australia.

?

Thanks

?

Regards

Chris

Hi Folks,

Didn't know if you had this newspaper clipping from the March 2, 1819 edition of the Knoxville Register. If not, enjoy.
