Re: A peaceful approach to building a new bridge

Hi Rob,

I think your anger is completely justified but your effort to rethink how to proceed without it dominating is a good decision.? Witty sarcasm is fun, to vent some frustration with like minded people, like us, but doesn't help bridge things with those who disagree.??

Wakefield Covered Bridge is nice, it sounds inclusive, like sheltering under a big umbrella, open to all.? Wakefield in the world . . .? not Wakefield in the Outaouais.? ?

I don't know if he posted it, but my neighbour read me a sarcastic response he wrote re someone's post to the WF news decrying rising local taxes.? Reading it to me was fine, I laughed, but I told him I didn't think he should post it.??

bye for now,
edythe

Hi guys,

I've been trying to find a more effective way to launch a platform that will bring in members who want to share more topics than those allowed on WF News.

I think that I have to subdue my anger to think more clearly and effectively and that has led me to some changes in my approach.

I don't think that posting/mirroring WF News will help to bring more members into the forum.
I have considered a different name for the forum Wakefield-Covered-Bridge.
It is symbolic and more positive and appealing.?
It will "cover" topics outside the scope of WF News to act as a complement to that group and serve community members.

I wish we could have all these discussions in one place but I do not think that that will happen.
I will reserve my satire/sarcasm for another arena - maybe my podcast where I can interview residents and present poetry investigating issues of social justice.
The WakeyLeaks name was fun but not the best choice for a wider audience.
