The other thing to consider is how clean the power output is. I do all the training for Murdoch's staff, including on generators. A LOT of the cheap generators put out power that would trash your laptop if you ran it regularly on that power source. I'd imagine the same is true for radios. You absolutely get what you pay for in generators. In seven years and many many vendors, I've never seen a single exception to that rule.

Thanks for the link Bruce. I've owned 7 generators now. 5 Honda's
and two cheapies. Both cheapies failed after a couple of years and
weren't able to be repaired. Some time back my 2000 watt Honda got
stolen. I thought I might just do a google search on what other
RV'ers like. In my search there was a mix of cheap and more
expensive generators out there. Of course the most expensive was
the Honda. One thing that I noticed was the amount of users who
had purchased these discount generators.? At least half of them
when the generator failed, said they wished they'd? have bought a
Honda. Yes they said that many cheapies had gotten replaced under
the warranty. But not very convenient when you are in the boom
docks or at field day or in an emergency situation, it fails.? My
last Honda lasted 13 years and was sill going, probably still
running for the A**hole that stole it too. Buyer beware.
