Hello All,

Not sure this has been said on here so:

Gallatin Ham Radio Club was one of the lucky ones!!! Less than 1/3 of the applicants actually received an award. The goals of this grant are to revitalize and expand our club by building bridges into our community. The Club is looking to focus on the Scouting America group initially. Our grant funds will purchase educational books and manuals, parts for building directional antennas, inexpensive radios to be used with antennas for fox hunts, licensing fees(for scouts to take Technichian test free of charge), Scout training for 5 GHRC members, and funds for a club banner and pamphlet information(POTA, SOTA, AMSAT, etc.) We expect this project will bring new life to the Club and enhance the world of Scouts by showing new opportunities.

GHRC has hit the ground running! We had a great coffee meeting this Saturday with scout leaders and a scout of the Mountain Valley Scouting District. We have began planning an initial event for a camporee in May. More info to come, please follow along through the /g/W7ED.

Gallatin Ham Radio Club is honored to have been awarded this grant and look forward to the many opportunities this will create for us as a club but more importantly the opportunities it will create in our community at large!
