Hello all,
I am officially submitting my candidacy for President of the Gallatin Ham Radio Club. Having served as Secretary since 2021, I¡¯d like to highlight a few key points ahead of the upcoming election.
As many of you know, my wife and I are house-hunting across the country, with plans to relocate by next summer. If elected President, there is a chance I may not be able to attend meetings and events in person after that time. However, I will make a special effort to be present for Summer Field Day. Our use of Zoom has been a great asset to the club, and I intend to stay actively involved, even remotely.
With this in mind, my tenure as President would be for 2025 only. I want to be transparent about this commitment and am more than willing to support anyone interested in leading the GHRC from 2026 onward.
During my time with the club, I¡¯ve observed an increase in membership and a desire among members to contribute, though not necessarily in leadership roles. I propose creating two new committees¡ªOutreach/Fundraising and Field Day¡ªthat would provide more structured opportunities for member involvement while also easing the leadership¡¯s workload.

Outreach/Fundraising Committee ¨C Working alongside the Treasurer, this committee would explore funding opportunities, which are increasingly important given potential future rental costs for repeater sites and the need to modernize our aging repeater system.

Field Day Committee ¨C Responsible for planning and executing both Summer and Winter Field Days, including site selection, transportation of club trailers, and general logistics.
In addition, I¡¯ll continue to compile detailed information on our current repeater system, as mentioned in a previous Groups.io post. I may reach out to members for assistance in this ongoing project.
