Personally I prefer to a rag chew qso via cw with me sending at the speed of the other station. It amazes me that on 20 you hear the eastern European stations calling cq after cq at 35-50 wpm, and oddly enough they do not make many if any qso's. However at the same time down the band is some low power cw station sending at anywhere from 6 or 7 wpm to maybe 15 making qso after qso....Wonder why? Having been a steady ham since 1952 I can talk about the old days.....and it was always a courtesy to send at the speed of the other station....we all had to start somewhere. So although I still do 30-34 wpm ( at 86 years old) I am often heard down the band having a rag chew qso with a station at 8 or 9 wpm.....There I feel better, vented my spleen without going on the air.....Thanks for listening to an old lady with a limp.
