You're right -- self-spotting could have really helped.
From what I read there should have been cell service up there.
But it proved too unreliable.
On my first CQ, my phone dinged right away showing that I'd been spotted.
But when I tried to self-spot, I no longer had a cell signal.
I was very focused on SOTA and did not think to post to POTA.app before I left.
Next time!
