It's time, once again, to check in to the weekly Winlink net.
This week let's use the net check-in template again, but I will send a map on Friday with the reported locations.
To access the template on Winlink Express, do the following:
Click on the Message -> New Message menu item.
Click on Select Template and then expand Standard Templates.
Double click on either the GENERAL Forms or the MAPPING-GIS FORMS item to open it, then double click on Winlink Check In.txt.?
The form will open in your default browser.
On PAT, do the following:
Click Action -> Compose
Click "Template"
Click on either the GENERAL Forms or the MAPPING-GIS FORMS item to open it, then double click on Winlink Check In.txt.?
The form will open in your default browser.
Fill out the form as usual.? In the Send To field, enter W0NE.
In the location, enter a description of your location.
In the Latitude and Longitude fields, enter your FPS coordinates.? You can find them on Google Maps or other mapping apps if you don't have a GPS handy.? Feel free to fudge them a little if you don't want your QTH on the map.
In the comments field, enter the usual check-in data:
Name, Callsign, City, County, State, Country, Mode (and Gateway if applicable)
In the second line, feel free to make any suggestions for anything you would like to see in future exercise, whether it is something new you want to learn or just a good idea you have seen on other nets.
My homework will be to use the GPS data to map all the check-ins and I will send out a link to the map on Friday.
