Re: Summer Assignments

Hi Chaya,

My child is an incoming 9th grader and, while they have been drawing, they have not been working on the summer packet since it isn't required.? They have other packets that they are focusing on this summer.

Looking forward to meeting everyone, even if just virtually, sometime in the near future.

Chaya,

I think the summer assignment question varies from family to family. ?We¡¯ve found that although the assignments are optional, they do help our daughter prep for the year. ?

We should know more later this week about how to best communicate with the teachers and where things stand on Remind. ?Their emails are below, and as Ms. Walsh mentioned, they don¡¯t yet have the student lists and are just starting to ramp up. ?There are a lot of questions and not that many answers yet, but we should know more this week.

Best,
Lynn

Hello VAC families,
my son is an incoming freshman. ? Are your Freshman children ?doing the summer assignments? ?My understanding is that it is optional for Freshmen and my son has not been too keen on completing these.
Also, what is the best way of getting in touch with Ms. Harris and Mark. Walsh? ?I¡¯ve sent them emails but have not gotten replies.
I know they¡¯ve used the Remind App in the past.
Ive been having some issues with it and can¡¯t figure out how to fix those.

Thanks, and hope all of you are doing well and staying healthy!
