I just checked with my wife who uses Siri to get her Uber rides. She says to Siri get me an UberX ride home. She usually uses Uber X to get home from the grocery store or the beauty parlor.

While browsing online I found information wherein people are saying that one can easily book a ride through Uber using voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. I tried numerous times but did not succeed. Am I doing something wrong or its not possible at all or even so such a way even exist. Because I personally believe if by just using my voice I could book a ride than that would really be a boon for visually impaired like me.

Hello, in order for this to be possible you have to add Uber or Lyft to your Siri shortcuts. So for example, just say Siri ask Uber or Lyft to book a ride after you add some shortcuts to the Shortcuts app I hope this helps.

Uber and Lyft are seen as ride sharing apps or transportation services
rather than public transit. I opened my app today and saw that I can
still get a pick up if needed. It is to a driver's discretion if they
want to continue working during this time.
It would be in the interest of folks to check if they can get a pick
up and if the place that they would like to go to is even open.
