Re: Paratransit

Hi J I definitely agree with you whenever it comes to paratransit. Oh and when changing the subject line, I don't want to be harsh and I don't want to have to constantly ask. But can we start new messages please it makes it easier for people that read in threaded view. Like myself whenever I am on my Mac. Which I currently am on my Mac and I am mainly on my Mac all the time anyway. And as far as going on a rant, you can go on a rant as much as you like here. As long as it's not bashing a company.,

Hi all. I changed the subject to better reflect my thoughts. I've used paratransit off and on since the mid-90s, with mixed results. Time probably won't permit me to go into a big rant about this, but suffice it to say I have mixed feelings about ADA paratransit. It's a great concept that has been plagued with problems over the years. I've arrived at this conclusion based on my own experiences with the local system, and also based on what I've heard from friends/family and read from acquaintances and in a few books on disability history. I've heard time and again that everything and everyone has their issues, and this is a true statement. But I firmly believe that something that is nationwide shouldn't have this many issues. Furthermore, it seems to me that these issues--or most of them--are not being resolved in a timely fashion if at all. I realize I'm being rather blunt here, but this is and has been an issue that really pushes my hot buttons. I published a rant about it over on my journal. But there was a guy here in my city who drove people around for a flat fee. I think he has since retired, but I also heard from someone that he is still driving. I rode with him a few times, and was very impressed.

OH I AGREE WITH THAT ESPECIALLY WHENEVER IT COMES TO MOST PARATRANSIT SERVICES. IN THE AREA THAT I LIVE IN, I HAVE MORE TROUBLE WITH TALKING TO THE DISPATCH DEPARTMENT THEN I DO THE DRIVERS OR THE SCHEDULERS.

?HI CHERYL, I PERSONALLY HAVE YOUTH STEM TO DO MY GIRLFRIENDS GROCERY SHOPPING AND THEY HAVE BEEN IS NICE ENOUGH AS TO HELP MY GIRLFRIEND TAKING HER GROCERIES. SO I DON'T THINK THERE WOULD BE ANY PROBLEM WITH THEM HELPING SOMEBODY TO GET INTO THE DOCTORS OFFICE. I EVEN HAD SOMEBODY THAT WE RODE WITH AND NOTICED THAT I LEFT MY CANE IN THEIR CAR, AND WITHIN AN HOUR AND A HALF OR WITHIN 30 MINUTES THEY HAD COME BACK AND BROUGHT ME MY CANE AND WALKED IT ALL THE WAY UP TO THE APARTMENT COMPLEX WHERE MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE STAYING. SO IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PERSON.

Hi Joseph. Okay. Is there a way to comment like saying to go into the main
entrance and see the security guard. With a normal cab, I can say on the
phone I'm blind and to see the security guard. Also do they actually park
and take you inside the building to say your doctor's office?

Hi, indeed there is. Uber has a website that you can use on the computer.
And there's also something called go go grandparent which I don't know if
they serve Canada or not but I would be glad to check and they use Uber I
think. You call gogo grandparent over the telephone.

Hi. I'm here. I am in Canada. Is there a way to use Uber without a
smart

have
it in Canada.

Hello everyone, we have had a serious growing amount of members and I
wanted
to take the time to welcome everyone. The reason why am posting, is
because
somebody said that the group has some issues. And they've tried to post to
the group so I'm going to see if this post goes through.
