¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi everybody. This was the first message I landed on just now when opening my email program again. Anyways...I just read about this group earlier today over on the i-devices group and figured I'd join. As for a little bit about myself, I've been blind since birth and live in a suburb of Chicago, so you'd think I'd be keen on transportation and travel and all that, right? Well not exactly but things are starting to improve especially with the acquisition of my iPhone about 2 years ago. I could sing the praises of the iPhone with VoiceOver probably forever. But to cut right to the chase, I started using Uber last year with the help of a sighted tutor. I've had no problems with the service itself, or Lyft which I've used a few times as well. The Uber app seems to get along pretty well with VoiceOver, but I've had some issues. I think this is due in part to my slow typing on the phone, but that will improve over time. I've since had a number of ongoing social engagements which have more or less eaten up my time, so I haven't done as much with my iPhone as I probably should. But I do have some 3rd-party apps on there in addition to Uber. I don't currently have the Lyft app, but hopefully I can find the time to get it soon. I think that's all from me for now. More later. This is a question I have been meaning to ask about Uber service. ?The ability to schedule a time call would be really helpful, especially if you are like us, and don't live in an area with cabs available. Uber has a website that you can use on the computer. And there's also something called go go grandparent which I don't know if they serve Canada or not but I would be glad to check and they use Uber I think. You call gogo grandparent over the telephone. joseph hudson Technology support for the blind or better known as Mack, IOS and Windows support FaceTime, iMessage, and email jhud7789@...
