Uploading Arduino to DDS-VFO
I knew it wouldn't be long before I was over my head with this project! Upload ain't working. I'm using a knockoff geeetech.com Iduino NANO v3.0. uses FTDI FT232RL. Computer is an old Dell laptop

Re: cheap 'Rockmite' for VFO?
I also built the Super Rockmite 51 and was able to get it working. Agreed, the 'typical' documentation is awful but once I found something decent it started making sense. I get about 6 watts out of

Re: cheap 'Rockmite' for VFO?
Hi Bob, You didn't comment on the controller. Did you use the STC12C4052? Have you got a PC software which works through the serial port? - or do you agree - forget that part of it and use an external

Re: Rotary Encoder Type
In my case I hadn't wired any supply voltages to my headers except for the display so it was easier to just pop two resistors and leave the wiring and SW alone (for now). - John W1JDS

Re: Display for DDS-DFO
Ok, thanks. I bought a bunch of pre-made jumpers with connectors already on each end and was kinda expecting it to match up directly like the drawing shows. Don't have any experience in these things.

I guess I don't see the issue. Use dupont jumpers: SDA to Pin 16 of J1SCL ? ? ? ? ? ?14Vcc ? ? ? ? ? ? 10GND ? ? ? ? ? 12 Jack, W8TEE To: SoftwareControlledHamRadio@...

Display for DDS-DFO
Hi, I'm using ZIAs kit and the display module usess a YwRobot Arduino. I note the pinout order doesn't match the board pinout. Do I have the correct module and simply need to make up an individual

Hi Bob: Email me on your efforts relative to the DDS. A VFO makes QRP that much more successful! Jack, W8TEE To: SoftwareControlledHamRadio@... Sent: Wednesday, November 2, 2016 8:31 AM

Re: Rotary Encoder Type
Actually, the better way to connect the encoder is to use the header pins on J1. CLK --- Pin 22DT ? --- Pin 18SW ?--- Pin 17+ ? ? ?--- Pins 7, or 8, or 9, or 10GND ---?Pins 20, or 19, or 12, 0r

Re: Rotary Encoder Type
I got it working by removing the 2 pull-up resistors on the back of the PCB. Pull-ups are already configured in the code. Only 4 wires are needed this way on my setup. - John W1JDS

Re: Rotary Encoder Type
FIXED IT! Using a rotary encoder with push button type: KY-040 with 5 connectors. The interconnections needs to be: From KY-040 to the DDS Board: CLK --- Pin 24 DT --- Pin 18 SW --- Pin 21 + --- 5V

Re: cheap 'Rockmite' for VFO?
I have 2 super rockmites.I built them with crystal sockets so I can change frequencies. I have used them on 7.030 and 7.050 with good success. Both have outputs over 6 watts. I am looking at building
