Re: New file uploaded to SoftwareControlledHamRadio
I thumbed through the calculations and figure it out.. I got mine dead on frequency.. In my case is needed to enter 34.3602763936801857 to get mine to be right on 7025.00. It had been on tuning null

post the article to Files section?
Would it be possible for the March 49er article to be posted to the Files section in PDF format?I don't get QST, and for me to go to the central library to get and read the issue (if it even there and

Re: New file uploaded to SoftwareControlledHamRadio
Hi Marty and Steve ! The tuning constant number that we are looking for should look like 34 dot something. I got 34.35876018265670 (14 digits after the decimal point). This is the same format as the

Re: New file uploaded to SoftwareControlledHamRadio
Thanks Marty, I tried to follow what Jack had as far as calculating this and I think I got the TW, but not the clock number.. It seemed my numbers were coming up wrong.. Close but not like your

Re: New file uploaded to SoftwareControlledHamRadio
I ran this into Excel and got 0.0343587601826567 for the tuning Constant. Copy and past values from the spread sheet changes the precision from the cells. Hope that is what you wanted. 73,Marty WD9GYM

Re: My_Tuning_Constant
Jack, I'm having a bit of a hard time grasping this.. In my case my VFO is showing 7025.200, but I need it to drop by 200 to show 7025.00 and align with my signal generator signal. I did the one

Re: New file uploaded to SoftwareControlledHamRadio
Got my number 2 49'er working and the receive is there... Still need to do the TX but figured I'd get the VFO calibrated first. Since I don't have a version of excel that will open this new file can

Re: My_Tuning_Constant
Hi! I think I have the tuning constant figured out. I was stuck at the end and reading thru Jack's message I saw that the TW needs to be divided by the VFO display frequency on the LCD. On that last

Re: My version of a VFO controlled Chinese Transceiver
Nice Build...love the case! The BCI filter (see early photos) I detail will knock the slats out of any local broadcast interference. I have an article coming out on it in CQ Magazine this summer. That

Re: My version of a VFO controlled Chinese Transceiver
The receive is pretty good except for occasional BCI that seems to be common in these simple transceivers. Because I did not have the correct transistor for the final, output is less than a half watt.

Hi Dennis, Please let me know if you discover any solutions. I am not having this *exact* problem. When I turn on my 49er with the DDS VFO connected, I only get hiss out of the headphones. I never get

My version of a VFO controlled Chinese Transceiver
I built a different VFO controlled 40 meter transceiver using a Frog Sounds transceiver, Arduino, si5351 breakout board and an OLED display. I have several posts with details on my blog. DuWayne's

Re: My_Tuning_Constant
The difference of 200 HZ may not be a true measure if you use a frequency counter. I have three very good counters and they are all off by at least that much. A better measure is to use a high quality

Re: My_Tuning_Constant
If you take 2^32 and divide it by 125000000, you get 34.359738368, which we will call the "clock factor". The frequency you want is 7.061.8. So what we want to find is what tuning word will "make"
