Re: February 2025 QST Cover Plaque Award
Congratulations Jack, well deserved! It was a real treat sitting directly behind you last year at FDIM and wish we could be there again this year.
?
Takes a lot of work to even be considered for the Cover Plaque award and I am honored beyond believe myself ?to have two shiny ones of my own up on the "I Love Me Wall" here in the shack.
?
CU in 2026 at FDIM and Hamvention, adopting two 8-week old German Shepherd puppies radically changed our plans this year!
?
Congrats again!

You have presented several solutions on this reflector, and the Ham Radio community who reads QST liked the 4 methods presented in your article so much that they voted your article the most popular article in the February 2025 issue.? Great writing!

Here are my plans: Run a shielded cable from Mic Socket direct to Audio Hat Mic pins. Use back accessory IDC socket and run ribbon connector from there to Key inputs, Ground, and then a ground and wire from ribbon over to PTT in socket. Tnx for that hint Dr. Bill. That should be a bit cleaner, no need for 1/8 TRS cable for Mic. Cleans up busy side of Main board a bit. I will twist ribbon wires also per Dr. Bill.? Tim W4YN |

Which book edition??
Al and I released an updated version of the book, but we didn't feel it was worth calling it a new edition. The problem is I've placed two different orders and was sent the wrong printing. That has been fixed now, even though the ad has an April 18, 2024 for the release. There are two obvious differences that you can use to tell if you're ordering the right edition. First, the T41 on the cover should be black, as shown below. Second, and more important, if you click on the Read Sample button below the book image and scroll down, you should see that it has A new? chapter (Chapter 20 on Calibration). That chapter is new with the update and expands upon the information that was in Appendix C on earlier editions. Jack, W8TEE -- Jack, W8TEE |

Yep, Got the right version with chapter 20. If people look at the free sample on the amazon listing it shows the contents and chapter 20 is listed.

No it's there I missed it!
1. Make a cable to connect the “R_OUT” (or Q) and “L_OUT” (or I) and Ground (GND) on?
the Teensy Audio Hat pins with the 90-degree pins next to the Teensy board (pins 17,? 18, 19). The best way to do this is to use IDC jumper wires with female header socket.? Twist the wires together for best noise immunity.? Tim |
