New book
ALL: Has anyone received a copy of the new T41 book? The new version supposedly became available after April 4th and has a black T41 on the cover and Appendix C on Calibration has been expanded to a new chapter (#20). If so, please let me know, as I have ordered review copies for Al and myself twice now, and they have sent the old pre-April 4th version. Thanks! Jack, W8TEE -- Jack, W8TEE |

Re: The T41 from 4SQRP and V11 boards.
What I believe is an "Experimental Platform" means more modules.? Smaller chunks of circuitry for specific functions.? Each module should be relatively easy to build and test compared to
a board which includes two or more major functional blocks.? This keeps it in the context of amateur radio and building stuff in the garage with limited test equipment.
?
Thus T41-2 is even more modular than the original T41.? The Main board does not include the Si5351 or the audio amplifier.? Those are pushed off to external modules.
The ADC and DAC modules are retained, rather than built into the board as in V12.? This gives the flexibility of swapping out with future higher-performance modules.
Even the power amplifier is modular, with separate boards for the driver and final amplifier (still in development).

Re: The T41 from 4SQRP and V11 boards.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Harry, Thanks for the note. ? I just checked my records and I sold a total of 218 full sets of V10/V11 boards (plus odds and ends of full sets).? But that was two plus years ago.? I may still have sets of V10/V11 bare boards in the recycle box¡ I¡¯ll dig around to see if I can find some for you because the demand for the V10/V11 sets has dried up as of the V12 release.? In any case, the GERBERS for the V10 and V11 boards are all available at no cost on my GITHUB.? The 4SQRP boards (+GERBERS) are not available to me so I can¡¯t support them as of now. ? Beyond that, I¡¯ve sold 1,200+ sets of V12, and 150+ in stock that I will sell at Hamvention in about a month.? Last year I sold 200 sets at FDIM and HamVention alone in just 4 days, and I expect to do that and more this year, since I now have an inside booth (4111 for those who will attend). ?I will take paper orders if I run out (I expect that will happen because I only have so much space in my luggage).? I will also be selling the latest T41 book (signed copies) from Jack and Al at Hamvention in my booth (NOT at FDIM where Jack and Al will be selling the book). ? I won¡¯t be able to support older versions of the T41 past free GERBERS and documentation.? The cost of doing so is prohibitive.? I have thousands of US dollars tied up in parts and boards¡ and can only support so much.? I don¡¯t know if Greg supplies boards for your V10/V11 projects or not¡ I don¡¯t really follow what he does (and hence can¡¯t/ don¡¯t/ won¡¯t comment on it). ?I do see some new directions on the horizon for the T41 after V12.? The RF performance is outstanding¡ now to supercharge the user interfaces and the I/Q processing parts. ? ? Dr. William J. Schmidt - K9HZ J68HZ 8P6HK ZF2HZ PJ4/K9HZ VP5/K9HZ PJ2/K9HZ VP2EHZ ? Re: Trying to build a AM Demod so I can see my CW signal
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou don¡¯t actually need a demodulator to see your CW signal on your scope¡ you just need a scope that is capable of displaying the fundamental frequency of the transmission¡ so any oscilloscope capable of displaying a signal up to 30(-50 )MHz will cover the entire range of the radio up to 10(-6)M inclusive. ? You will need the demodulator if you wish to see the audio envelope of an AM signal. ? BTW there are lots of good replacements for 1N34 (germanium) diodes¡ 1N270, BAT46, 1N5711, etc.? The BAT46 is bar far the closest to a substitute and is currently available from Digikey and Mouser. ? ? Dr. William J. Schmidt - K9HZ J68HZ 8P6HK ZF2HZ PJ4/K9HZ VP5/K9HZ PJ2/K9HZ VP2EHZ ? The Wiki needs a good scrubbing.? There is more obsolete stuff in there.? I fixed only one of the most serious problems.

Well... Apparently it didn't work as well as I thought it would... because you didn't know it was there in all directories... I guess I could say something about that in the wiki...
