After reading your explanation of the problem I went back and read the postings again. This time with a mental angle of the library linking?being the issue rather than the compiler version. It now makes sense.
Nearly fell asleep reading the release notes backtracking from V1.6.9 to V1.0.5. There was enough of "Oh, that's cool" and "Oh, that library has been upgraded" that yeah I'll go there. Then when I found out my release was over 3 years old that I needed to get with the program and upgrade.
Going to melt solder on the Forty-9er board tomorrow. I'll upgrade the IDE and tinker with the VFO also. Need to finish up the voltmeter with warnings mod and get that uploaded.
