I have the jumpers switched and the nexus dsc pro is now communicating. I did a two star alignment and it pointed good to the first five targets and then on the sixth target it was off by about 5

no need to check the front if you know you have a Gen2 handpad. The Gen2 is not compatible with a Gen3 and vice versa. g.

You need to open ServoCAT and change three jumpers to configure it the same way as for Argo Navis - please see the attached photo. You do not need a new cable to connect the serial port on Nexus DSC
