Yes besides pretty pictures it is incredible fun to pluck amazing (and faint) objects out of the sky and onto the screen. Here¡¯s one example of the twin quasar 8.6 Billion Ly distant in Ursa Major. The first identified gravitationally lensed object. This was an 88sec screen shot during live view through my 18¡± dob

?Thank you Sevan - I'll check it out further.... and thanks Wes. Wes, the issue with the SmartEye is that I've no clue when its going to be available or how well it will work. I think it is a good 9 - 12 month before we know sound information on it (if then - possibly delayed due to release issues). It DOES look promising though.?
I started down this path by being amazed at the Dwarf II and then SeeStar S50. What they can do in a light polluted area. Cuiv (the lazy geek) tested it out from Bortle 8 Tokyo ... and had some pretty nice images. Then I saw the Vespera and it appeared to be better yet - albeit at three times the price. Then read with interest about the Vespera PRO ... but that is twice again the price! Finally at that level I said to myself - hey - I have 12.5" ... that is 39X the light gathering capability of these "smart" scopes... which brings me here... although nebula are nice - my goal is to EAA image, from my Bortle 5 side yard, galaxies, globs, and PN.?
